This house in the heart of Montesinho Natural Park, in Vilarinho village, near Baceiro river. In its redevelopment work owners tried to combine the available space with all the requirements for a pleasant stay, was rebuilt obeying traditional style. Situated on a majestic forests of oaks and holms, you can stroll along the paths of the area.

If you enjoy sceneries of mountains and breathtaking colours, and/or if you are a  lover of hunting or fishing you will find here a  prime location.

The House has 1 bedroom 1 with capacity for 2 + 2 people and 1 T3 with seating for 6 +2 persons, it has 4 bedrooms, two with Private WC and two with shared bathroom, central heating, solar thermal panel for hot water, the porch has the perfect conditions for a barbecue, and during the summer or winter T1 and T3 are 100% independent.

Dating back to the 18th century, this quiet residence is situated in the Arribes del Duero Nature Reserve. Featuring an outdoor pool, it also incorporates a spacious garden with a private chapel.

The Convent of Balsamão has a part reserved for guests – House Retreat and Rest of Balsamão with central heating, 37 rooms with private bathroom, lounge andsatellite TV, conference room meetings or seminars, restaurant, bar and party hall for weddings, baptisms and

The Convent of Balsamão is located in the north-east, Trás-os-Montes, in the heart of Bragança county, at 57 km from the city, 17 km away from Macedo de Cavaleiros and 4 km from the village of Chacim. The Balsamão hill is watered by river Azibo, in the south, with a small roman bridge lain across, and by the stream of Chacim in the north.
As high as 522 m, the small hill has very particular micro-climate that allows the growth of the orange-tree and the almond-tree, making the landscape astonishing when the bloom starts.

Facing it you find the Bornes Mountain, once called “honey hill” with its fertile valleys and hillocks. The visitor, among other touristic points, has the chance to see the roman bridges mentioned before, the village of Malta, once a property of the military order with the same name, which is closely connected to the history of Balsamão, the damming of Azibo with
its magnificent fluvial beach.

The Historic memory of the convent is compose by the church( sanctuary of our lady of Balsamão), a small and old cloister and the room of the honour-able Frey Casimiro that conquers the tourists by its meaning, beauty and simplicity.
In the Convent lives a religious community, the Marians of the Immaculate Conception who owns the Convent. They offer a shelter for pilgrims and guests. It also develops an activity plan linked to religious matters and studies for religious life and priesthood.

The retreat house at Convento de Balsamão has 37 rooms – all equipped with telephone, restrooms and heating – social and TV rooms, library, museum, conference rooms, cafeteria, restaurant, ballroom, a chapel and a church that has just undertaken a comprehensive restoration.

The house has two floors, the living room, kitchen, small service toilet and one of the rooms (disable friendly) are located on the ground floor. The other three rooms are on the first floor, the cistus and the gorse rooms are perfect for a family stay as they have access to the shared balcony ideal for a morning sunny breakfast and reading.

The kitchen is fully equipped with microwaves, fridge with freezer, oven, stove, dish washer, eating and cooking dishes, pots and pans providing the guest all the needed tools to prepare a delicious meal in the house.

Each room is decorated in a simple yet unique way and each have a color matching a plant (that also names the room) all very particular from the northern region of the country. Some of the furniture was restored trying to keep the traditional but with a new touch in a nice dialog with the more modern pieces introduced in the decoration of each room.

The House of Caçarelhos is more than a agro-tourism lost in the grandness of the Mirandês plateau. With a familiar management, it was projected to welcome visitors as they were friends.

Located between the town of Vimioso and the city of Miranda do Douro, in the center of the centennial village of Caçarelhos, this agricultural house of typical rustic architecture, adopts the rock and the wood as key points of its sophisticated decoration, linking it to the essence of the place.

Curiosity

The School House was formerly a detached house witch owners were dedicated to agriculture. This family supplied the coal for heating  the small primary school students. The heating was traditionally maintained by the braziers.
